چکیده
The ever-increasing need for water, the alteration in climate, and its observed changes over recent years have triggered a lot of research studies associated with phenomenon drought. Within wider geographical region Mediterranean, relevant scientific subject seems to be great interest, since it is undoubtedly related number severe socio-economic consequences. This present effort focuses on evolution this particular time, within borders nine different countries Eastern Mediterranean (Athens, Greece—Europe; Constantinople, Turkey—Asia; Nicosia, Cyprus—Europe; Jerusalem, Israel—Asia; Amman, Jordan—Asia; Damascus, Syria—Asia; Beirut, Lebanon—Asia; Cairo, Egypt—Africa; Tripoli Libya—Africa). By applying Standard Precipitation Index (SPI), examining precipitation data at month level (January 1901 December 2020), utilizing Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) method, spatio–temporal variability drought events area was studied. In long-term droughts presented higher than usual volume, accordance 12- 24-month SPI, starting from mid-20th century. Similarly, Damascus similar pattern those Jerusalem. An upward trend frequency extreme last thirty years. same true terms duration dry periods. Drought also been central, southern, eastern regions Turkey. A downward Cairo based analysis monthly precipitation.

Analyzing Iran’s Local and Regional Droughts Using the Theory of Runs and Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI)
The primary objective of the present study is the investigation of the various properties of Iran’s local and regional droughts based on the theory of runs and standardized precipitation index (SPI). Thus, in order to accomplish this goal, the annual precipitation data of 63 synoptic stations were procured from Iran’s meteorological organization for a 30-year period (1986-2015).. First, based o...

Prediction of drought and flood events can be difficult, but the standardized precipitation index (SPI) calculated from monthly data may be a useful tool for predicting future dryness/wetness events in China. The rainy season SPI was calculated from monthly precipitation data from 3804 meteorological stations in China. The spatiotemporal variation, periodic change, and trend in rainy season SPI...
متن کاملCorrelation Analysis and Analysis of Drought Time Series Based on Modis Satellite Images and Standardized Precipitation Climatic Index (SPI) on the eastern slope of Zagros
Introduction Drought is one of the environmental disasters that is very frequent in arid and semi-arid regions of the country. Rainfall defects have different effects on groundwater, soil moisture, and river flow. Meteorological drought indices are calculated directly from meteorological data such as rainfall and will not be useful in monitoring drought if the data are missing. Therefore remot...

15 صفحه اولGIS analysis for vulnerability assessment of drought in Khuzestan province in Iran using standardized precipitation index (SPI)
The Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) is a widely used drought index to provide good estimations of the intensity, magnitude and spatial extent of droughts. The objective of this study was to analyze the spatial pattern of drought by SPI index. In this paper, patterns of drought hazard in Khuzestan are evaluated according to the data of 17 weather stations during data recording. The influe...
